Terms of Service for Truffle Tracker

By accessing or using Truffle Tracker ("we," "us," or "the site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

To submit sightings or verify restaurant data, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and current information.

2. User-Generated Content and Conduct

Truffle Tracker relies on community-driven data. By submitting a "sighting" or "verification," you agree to the following:

  • Accuracy: You will only submit sightings that you believe in good faith to be accurate and based on real-time observations or verified restaurant menus.
  • No Malice: You will not submit false data to intentionally mislead other users or damage the reputation of a restaurant.
  • Ownership: By posting content, you grant Truffle Tracker a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, and distribute that data as part of our database.

3. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use automated systems, bots, or "scrapers" to extract the Truffle Tracker database for commercial use or competing services.
  • Attempt to interfere with the technical operation of the site or bypass any security measures.
  • Impersonate restaurant staff or other users.

4. "As-Is" Disclaimer (No Warranty)

Truffle Tracker is a tool for discovery and education. We do not personally verify every user submission.

  • We provide the service on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis.
  • We do not guarantee that truffles reported on the site will be available upon your arrival at a restaurant, or that the species identification provided by users is 100% botanically accurate.
  • Any culinary or financial decisions made based on data from this site are made at your own risk.

5. Intellectual Property

The design, code, branding, and compiled database of Truffle Tracker are the property of the site owner and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or redistribute any portion of the site without prior written consent.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Truffle Tracker and its owners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the service or the inaccuracies of any user-submitted data.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to the Truffle Tracker community.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
