Restaurant FAQ
This FAQ covers how restaurant accounts work, how verification works, and what happens when diners report sightings.
Why is verification manual?
Because it prevents impersonation. Verified restaurant updates carry extra trust, and the review step protects both diners and restaurants.
Can anyone register as a restaurant?
Anyone can submit a registration request, but verified posting is only enabled after admin approval.
What does "Verified (Restaurant)" mean?
It means the update was posted by a restaurant account that has been approved by an admin.
What does "Verified (Diner)" mean?
It means a registered diner report was confirmed by another registered diner.
What if a diner report is wrong?
Because availability changes quickly, reports can be accurate at the time and still change later. If something is consistently incorrect, contact us and we will review it. Verified restaurants can always post an "Out of truffles" update to correct the current status.
Do you guarantee availability?
No. We report what diners and restaurants report. Availability can change quickly. Guests are prompted to confirm directly with the restaurant.
Do you allow "truffle oil" reports?
No. Truffle Tracker is focused on truffles. We keep the scope tight to protect trust.
Availability changes quickly. Always confirm directly with the restaurant.
